The first lot of youth visas have come! And the tee-shirts are ordered

It is NOT OK for a Palestinian to have such a problem getting a UK visa when the people who live a separate privileged on their land are allowed by the UK to come with no visa...

It is NOT OK for it to cost so much when it adds to the prices paid by a people under occupation every time they  move (cost to apply to go to Jerusalem, cost for a fine when arrested for something you didn't do, cost for travelling to Amman instead of flying directly from your country, cost of tax to the occupying country to be allowed to leave that country...) ...

It is NOT OK to reinforce discrimination by copying this difference, and CADFA ask you again to sign our petition (we are also collecting in  hard copy) here...

But because we are waiting for our young visitors, we are very glad that the first lot of visas have arrived and the others are expected probably tomorrow. They are travelling next week.

Preparations are going on - today the handbooks for the young people have arrived from the printer, and the tee-shirts have been priced and will be produced in Palestine and brought along with them by the visitors when they come.

Last night in London was a CADFA meal to officially start off the youth visit, though in fact in both countries the young people involved are already deep in preparation and looking forward to meeting each other.

If you are not part of the project, you can still enjoy it and support the young people by joining the public events in Norfolk or London. Hope to see you soon.

Volunteers stall in London

Yesterday afternoon our EVS volunteers Momen from Palestine and Emilio from Spain (who took the picture) did a stall in Kentish Town London.
They invited Sophie, the new EVS volunteer who will go to Palestine on Saturday to stay for two months. She will be an active member of the twinning links and all the CADFA activities in Palestine.

While doing the stall, they talked with a lot of people about Palestinian issues and they gave out leaflets for the people who were interested in our charity and our projects.

Drama sessions

Hello everyone!

On Monday I went to the first of four drama sessions in preparation for the Palestinian youth group visit. During the two hour session we played a variety of games including ice-breakers, clapping games and various other physical activities. We also took some time to reflect on the week we will be spending with the visitors from Palestine.

Sorcha - Our first drama session was very successful! The ice-breaker game allowed the group to get to know one another and find out why we all wanted to be part of the youth visit.

Oonagh - I enjoyed my first drama session with CADFA, I look forward to the others to come.

Lucy - We thought about the importance of the sessions and how we would benefit from them. We discussed what we would learn from people living such different lives to us and how they would learn from us, which I thought was very interesting.

Eloise - It was interesting to analyse our lives living in London and compare it to what their lives are like.

Saoirse - It was fun getting to know the group and to start thinking of the sessions ahead and what we'd get out of them. it was also very interesting hearing everybody's thoughts on what its like to live in the UK and discussing the comparisons between here and Palestine.

Emma - It was fun getting to know everyone that we would be working with the next coming weeks. The things we discussed brought things into perspective with just how privileged we are and in comparison with Palestine, from what I know, their life is very different to ours. It was great listening to what people hoped to get out of this experience and I look forward to working with everyone from here and Palestine.

Cadfa crowfunding

Hi CADFA friends!

The Erasmus Plus Volunteers 2015 Nadine, Momen, Dunja and Emilio want to invite you to our new fundraising enterprise!

We opened a crowfunding page on a website call 'Indiegogo' to raise £1000 to support CADFA projects! As you know, we don't receive any government help, just our members support us! Our projects are so beautiful and the people in Palestine are so happy to see how in Britain there are friends fighting for Human Rights.

Now, if you can, please, share the crowfunding page in all your social networks and all your friends can participate with some money, even with a few pence. The crowfunding is international and people from all the world can join in!  We hope to reach our goal!!

Working for the youth visit 2015

Hi guys!

The office is really busy everyday and all the projects and blogs are coming out fast!

The next visit is coming soon and all the youth group are happy, some volunteers have started the drama sessions with the young people and the students in the schools are preparing everything for seeing our Palestinian friends in a mounth's time.
Also, we are preparing some events for the end of the month to advertise the visit with a talk from our new EVS volunteers from Palestine about the situation in the occupied territories  and how  difficult life is there, but we will advertise more in few days! We will invite everybody to join us!

Hopefully everything will be good! And we will enjoy our time together!
