Really hard to believe this one

About two hours ago we got a phone call from Abed who should have been getting on a plane around now. They were all there in time, all booked in and paid for, but he was told that the ticket had been cancelled. Why, how, what? Such a shock and no idea why. The on-line travel agent we bought the ticket from is closed. The airline can see that the booking was made but then cancelled, and though we have tried really hard to buy the tickets again, it seems there   there was no way of paying for it.

We've just spent two hours talking to everyone at that airport, and to Turkish airlines in Heathrow, and in the end trying to book new tickets on line for early tomorrow morning (a later plane) and at the last minute being defeated as there is no way the Palestinians can buy them OR we can get them a credit card from here to show, and so, in the end, no way to do anything till the morning. And probably best so we can try and sort out that travel agent...

Poor people. They have just gone to find a hotel in Amman, and tomorrow  we are going to try get them on a flight somehow.

What it does mean is no way they can do the Blackburn event tomorrow Thursday and we are so very sorry for anyone who was coming, specially anyone we can't reach who braves the weather to come ... We will be in touch with our friends in Blackburn and see if we can maybe do it... on Monday... don't know. Look out for news.

Really this is one thing we didn't expect.

I'm sure it will all be worth it when they get here.
